APHM
is the
association for all the private hospitals in Malaysia. Currently
there are more than 100 private hospitals and medical centres who
are members of APHM. Out of this, more than 30 private hospitals are
actively involved in health and medical tourism.
The objectives of APHM are, amongst others:
-
To
co-ordinate activities of Private Hospitals in Malaysia and to
facilitate the delivery of a high standard of Healthcare to the
public.
-
To promote
the co-operation of individual Hospitals, engaged in providing
Healthcare Services within Malaysia and to promote co-operation
amongst Private Hospitals with other Providers of Healthcare.
APHM's membership
is open to all private hospitals in Malaysia licensed under the
Private Healthcare Facilities & Services Act 1998.
In Malaysia, all
private medical centres are approved and licensed by the Ministry of
Health. Most of the private medical centres have achieved
certification for internationally recognised quality standards, for
example, MS ISO 9002 or accreditation by the Malaysian Society for
Quality of Health (MSQH). Most private medical centres in Malaysia
offer comfortable and well-appointed accommodation, ranging from
suites to private rooms for single occupancy or more. Room charges,
inclusive of meals, vary between medical centres but remain at an
attractive level.
